Yesterday, I had the pleasant treat of attending the musical version of The Color Purple here in Philadelphia at The Academy of Music on South Broad Street. The cast was PHENOMENAL and the adaptation was pretty spot on with the book. Some familiar scenes remain, others have been expanded on in a way that things you may not have realized during the movie are fully revealed.

I highly recommend this musical if you can get tickets, whether here on on Broadway. But if you’d like to see it here… HURRY, it’s only here until July 13th. You can get more info on the show and it’s tour dates here.
